Splendid - Trainer Diaper
Introducing our Trainer Diapers! A small niche of the cloth world, trainers are such an important part of the journey of parenthood and toddlerhood. It may be time to pack up your little one's cloth diapers or pass them down to the next little one, but that doesn't mean your journey with cloth has to be over. We're now offering our trainer diapers, perfect for your little one's transition from the diaper to the potty.
Our trainers feature a PUL water-resistant outer layer, meaning leakage through the exterior fabric is an extremely low risk.
We also feature Athletic Wicking Jersey for the interior fabric, which helps wick any moisture away from your little one's skin. All of this makes both parent and little one happy!
There are two sets of sizing snaps on the diaper that make adjusting it for your specific little one a breeze, and the rise snaps to adjust the length is as easy as our pocket diapers. This makes things easy and versatile.
So Much Room in those Pockets!
Like, really. So much. What do we do with all of this room? Stuff them with inserts of course! We have left plenty of room for you to use your inserts similarly to our pocket diapers and customize your own absorbency.
Inverted Insert Snap
Let’s all be honest with one another: Stuffing can be tough. So we’ve made it a little brighter! Our trainers have an inverted snap that pairs with a snap that is on our inserts, allowing them to snap into the diaper. This makes stuffing and straightening a breeze, as it holds the insert in place while you’re working it. It really is a great system that we’re proud to offer. Oh, and we also have a two-flap system that allows stuffing from either side of the trainer.
Up and Down and Up and Down and Up
We are talking about trainers here! And a trainer wouldn't be complete without a suitable elastic waist that allows your little one to pull them down for potty time! But don't worry. If little one forgets to potty in the potty and there is, well, a *huge* mess, you can still remove these guys via hip snaps.
Making Mother Nature Smile
Naturally, these beauties are not only gorgeous, easy to use, and affordable. They also keep thousands of disposable diapers out of landfills! In fact, Stout House diapers are well known for being resold after a little one has outgrown them. They last, and that makes mother nature smile. :) (And us too, if we're being honest)
Our diapers and trainers are lab-tested to meet all of the CPSIA compliance requirements. This means our diapers are free from harmful chemicals and metals, giving you peace of mind with what is touching your little one’s skin.
How to Care for your Trainer
Our trainers are 100% machine wash safe. Our general advice is to knock solids into the toilet, pre-wash cold, wash hot with detergent, double rinse, tumble dry on low or hang them out on the line. It’s also not recommended to use bleach, certain rash creams (our all-natural Baby Balm is safe), or fabric softener.
Love the prints chosen for the Trainer 2.0. Spaced Out has a fun print with vibrant colors. Fits toddler well - could be wider but it works. We're on the loosest hip snaps at 3/4T. Have to be wise about inserts for absorbency/bulkiness.
While the prints are beautiful and the trainers have a similar look to the diapers, I feel really disappointed by these trainers. The snaps on the sides are incredibly uncomfortable on my LO and have left scabs on both sides from them digging into the skin. I think I’ll have to sew the slit on the inside of the front end of the trainer since whatever I use to stuff these slides right out of the front. Wish I would’ve known the exact style of design of these trainer before purchasing. Just wanted to put my honest opinion out there in case other parents were curious.
This fits my average sized toddler great. The pocket design for inserts is easy to use too.
Was disappointed with the quality of the stitching as after one wash (not even worn) it was coming unraveled. The company did offer to replace, however, their customer service was slow and I needed diapers so I ended up doing my best to fix it. Overall, I would just get regular pocket diapers and skip these training diapers.
My toddler is tall and skinny and we’ve had zero issues with leaks since we switched to stout house. She loves them and she uses them over night without issues.
